CarePlus Health Plans, Inc. is bringing its Medicare Advantage product to Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, giving Central Florida Medicare beneficiaries several new health plan enrollment options for 2008.
In addition to zero-dollar and low co-pay health benefit options, all CarePlus Medicare Advantage HMO plans feature benefits that highlight strong health advocacy benefits at no cost to the member, focusing on health screenings and preventive care. These include routine physical exams, immunization, bone mass measurement, colorectal screening exams, prostate cancer screening exams, diagnostic mammograms, screening pap smears and pelvic exams, the popular SilverSneakers Fitness Program, QuitNet smoking cessation, and for eligible members, a nutritional benefit -- Meals on Wheels home meal delivery following hospitalization.

CarePlus, based in South Florida, has provided innovative healthcare delivery options throughout Florida for nearly a decade. CarePlus has more than 50,000 Medicare beneficiaries in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
Beginning Nov. 15, CarePlus will begin enrollment for 2008 Medicare Advantage plans in those counties, as well as Pasco, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
The plans offer Central Florida Medicare beneficiaries four new health plan enrollment options for 2008. Pasco County Medicare beneficiaries will have six new health plan enrollment options for 2008.
CarePlus plans feature no primary care physician visit co-payments and low co-pays for specialist visits; prescription drug coverage options; transportation services; dental/vision/hearing services; preventive care and health screenings; worldwide emergency care; and, membership at no cost in the SilverSneakers® Fitness Program, which provides CarePlus Medicare Advantage beneficiaries with free access to participating fitness centers and specially designed exercise classes.
CarePlus specializes in Medicare Advantage health plans that are all inclusive, eliminating the need to pay for supplemental insurance or stand alone prescription drug coverage. In addition to the CareOne Medicare Advantage plan that includes prescription drug coverage, CarePlus will offer Medicare beneficiaries in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties three Special Needs Plans that feature year-round enrollment opportunities. These include two chronic disease Special Needs Plans designed for beneficiaries with diabetes or osteoarthritis, or both, who meet eligibility requirements.
