The MGMA has long been recognized as the premier resource for practice management issues on a national level. Now, there is a local chapter, Central Florida Medical Group Management Association (CFMGMA) that offers the same high quality resources to practice managers locally. The CFMGMA has grown to over 160 members in two short years and represents practices in every specialty, ranging in size from small, single physician practices to large, multi-specialty groups. While our membership is diverse, our members share common concerns and issues. CFMGMA members have discovered the advantages of being in an organization that offers a wealth of opportunities for learning and networking. In the past year, CFMGMA has offered presentations on topics varying from front desk etiquette to Medicare provider enrollment issues to managing collection accounts. CFMGMA provides local access to the highest caliber of speakers, topics and resources on issues that directly impact the success of any practice.

 

The Board of Directors of CFMGMA would like to invite office managers, practice administrators and any others who have a leadership role in their practice, to join us for our next meeting on May 12, at the Sorosis Club, 501 East Livingston Street, Orlando, when Greg Chaires, Esq. will be discussing the impact of the latest legislation. 

 

Physicians and medical practice administrators across the country have been waiting to see the outcome of the Congressional battle over healthcare legislation. We are all aware that the private practice of medicine may be changing… and soon. The ability of physicians and their practices to remain viable falls in large part to the successful leadership of their practice administrators and managers, regardless of the specialty or the size of the practice. CFMGMA is pleased that the Florida MGMA will be having its annual meeting in Orlando from April 19 – 21 this year. This year’s theme, “Come Look into the Crystal Ball …. and see what the future of healthcare holds,” is certainly a timely one that no practice manager should miss! CFMGMA, with support from both the state and national organizations, is dedicated to making their members successful in whatever their role is in their practices.
