Orange County Medical Society
The Orange County Medical Society hosted its Summer Quarterly Meeting on June 9, 2010 at the Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando. The dinner meeting featured a keynote address by Madelyn E. Butler, MD, President-Elect of the Florida Medical Association. She gave an engaging presentation on the importance of physicians taking part in organized medicine.

As part of the Orange County Medical Society's partnership with Orange County Government to help provide access to healthcare services for low-income Orange County residents, its 2010 events are showcasing opportunities for physicians to volunteer in the community. George Ellis, MD, gave a presentation on volunteer opportunities with SpecialCare of Central Florida, which provides access to healthcare services to low income, uninsured residents of Orange County.

The Orange County Medical Society's quarterly meetings are open to all members of the society. Non-member physicians are welcome and encouraged to attend as well. The Orange County Medical Society's next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more information, visit the Orange County Medical Society website at www.ocms.org
