Preferred Care
Preferred Care
Maybe you know Mabel. Mabel could be your neighbor, or maybe your friend from Church. She always arrives early, is dressed immaculately, her yard is the nicest in the neighborhood, she has watched all the neighborhood children as they grew up and shared stories about her children at the same age.

What does Mabel have to do with Preferred Care at Home?

Preferred Care at Home is a non-medical caregiver service. For the past 25 years, we have provided reliable, compassionate, and affordable caregivers to assist Seniors and others in their home with such tasks as meal preparation, light housekeeping, transportation, dressing and medication reminders, companionship, and so much more. Our Caregivers come along side our clients to give the client and their family members their independence back and improve their quality of life.

Quality of life is very important to us. The Standards of the Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) are normally what the Medical Community determines people's ability to maintain their independent lifestyle without the assistance of others. There may be several options of care for an individual, and some of these may be: a Skilled Nursing Facility or Independent Living Facility.

Both of these options can be a hardship in the individual or their family members, as they are so expensive and takes the individual out of their home, the place they feel the most comfortable, the place they feel safe.

Did you know there is an affordable, reliable, compassionate alternative? Preferred Care at Home allows people to stay in their homes - their window to their past, their safe haven for the present and their legacy to the future. A place where a caregiver can come in and hear the stories, share the pictures, and help Mabel maintain her independent lifestyle. Our highly qualified caregivers can help Mabel in her garden, do the laundry, and change the sheets, as assist with all the things that get harder with her Arthritis acts up. In instances where Mabel may not be as stable on her feet, our caregiver can be there to assist her.

While Mabel's family and medical professionals are considering what the best course of action is for her, she too is concerned. Mabel knows she does not want to be in an Independent Living Facility or the Assisted Living Facility. In fact, she knows more than anything else what she does not want. Yet her children have families of their own, and live so far away.

How do you know it's time to recommend Preferred Care at Home? Now is the time for family members and medical professionals to turn to Preferred Care at Home. Prolonging a decision to seek assistance for your loved one may result in waiting until it is too late. Waiting until after the stroke, or the fall may create a situation where the Skilled Nursing Facility or the Assisted Living Facility are the best option. Going Home may no longer be possible.

Why not let Mabel or anyone else in her position make that choice for themselves... Discuss this option with her BEFORE something happens, and let her decide. For most individuals, not knowing what lies ahead of them is very frightening. Preferred Care at Home can be by her side to improve her quality of life, and keep her where she is most comfortable: in her home.

So this isn't about what Mabel has to do with Preferred Care at Home, it's about how Preferred Care at Home has Everything to do with Mabel.
